HAL E. COBB
Prior to founding Cobb Hammett Andrews Cobb held senior positions in the banking industry where he served in a variety of roles including in-house counsel and loss mitigation, where he managed over 100M in troubled assets. In addition, he oversaw foreclosures, settlements and implemented litigation and risk management procedures to significantly reduce the bank’s debt portfolio.
Cobb earned his Accounting Degree from the Citadel in 1992, followed by an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of South Carolina. Cobb also has a Graduate Degree in Banking from Louisiana State University. Cobb has a Law Degree from the Charleston School of Law. Licensed in South Carolina and Colorado, Cobb is an active member of both Bar Associations, and he serves on the South Carolina Bar’s Corporate, Banking and Securities Counsel. Cobb is also a member of the Denver County, Douglas County and Charleston County Bar Association. Cobb is also a member of the South Carolina District Court Bar. In addition, Cobb is admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar.
Outside of his legal work, Hal contributes his time to pro bono representation for civil defendants and volunteers for various organizations in the Low Country community. Cobb serves as Chairman of the Board for Tri-County S.P.E.A.K.S. Cobb also serves as Chairman of the Charleston School of Law Foundation and is proud to have been nominated and elected to continue serving as he steps into the esteemed new role as Interim President of the Charleston School of Law Foundation.
Cobb is the proud father of three boys, Tyler, Alex and Theo.
