Community Involvement
Cobb Hammett is proud to work with the following non–profits in the lowcountry.
Dorchester Habitat was founded in 1993, and since then has completed 74 homes in Dorchester County. It takes roughly 2,000 volunteer hours and nearly $100,000 to complete each home. This non-profit keeps their construction costs at a minimum by utilizing mostly volunteer labor. The only services that cannot be performed by volunteers are electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
Tri-County S.P.E.A.K.S.
Cobb Hammett proudly supports Tri-County S.P.E.A.K.S., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault and advocating for prevention through education and outreach. Our firm has provided legal guidance and sponsorship to help advance the organization’s critical mission.
The Dance Conservatory of Charleston
As a strong advocate for arts education, Cobb Hammett is a proud supporter of The Dance Conservatory of Charleston. We have sponsored student performances and contributed to initiatives that promote access to professional dance training for young artists in our community.
Charleston School of Law
Cobb Hammett maintains an active relationship with the Charleston School of Law, providing mentorship, internship opportunities, and guest lectures to support the development of future legal professionals. We are committed to investing in the next generation of attorneys.

Teachers’ Supply Closet (TSC)
Teachers’ Supply Closet (TSC) is a nonprofit organization that provides free school supplies to teachers in the Tri-County area who work at schools where 69% or more of the students are on the free or reduced meals program.
TSC opened its doors in February 2009 as the only “free” school supply store in South Carolina. Its first location was inside the Ashley Landing Shopping Plaza in Charleston, South Carolina. The store originally served six elementary schools in the Charleston County School District. TSC currently reaches across Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties, serving 58 schools!
